RadarBanyuwangi.id – Many people are exposed to radicalism and terrorism in East Java (East Java), create a National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) together with Dewa Press held workshop in Banyuwangi Regency Wednesday (8/5).
This activity carries the theme "The Role of the Press in Preventing Radicalism and Terrorism to Create a Harmonious Indonesia".
Workshop which took place at the Dialoog Hotel presented three speakers, namely Hendrayana as an expert at the Press Council, Head of BNPT Environmental Security Sub-Directorate Colonel Setyo Pranowo, and Chairman of the Press Council for the 2016– 2019 Yosep Adi Prasetyo.
This activity was attended by dozens of journalists from print media, television, radio, and online on Blambangan Earth.

Participants are invited to play a role in countering and preventing the understanding of radicalism and terrorism.
"Understanding radicalism and terrorism is very important for media colleagues. It is not impossible for terrorists to take advantage of reports made by journalists,” said the opening chairman of the Press Council, Ninik Rahayu workshop past video conference.
Ninik said, The role of the press in radicalism and terrorism is very important. When the press reports on acts of terrorism it is the same as spreading terrorist terror to the public.
"Importance workshop to equalize perceptions in order to support a harmonious Indonesia,He said.

Colonel Setyo Pranowo said, The role of the press is of course very important in overcoming radicalism so that it can provide information and provide public safety.
"Overall, Indonesia is ranked 31 world regarding the spread of acts of terrorism and radicalism. Previously, Indonesia was ranked 34th," he explained.
BNPT continues to strive to overcome radicalism and terrorism by providing understanding to the public.
"The problem of terrorism is not just the task of BNPT, but all of society. Terrorism can threaten the safety of society at large,” explained Setyo.
