BANYUWANGI, KOMPAS.com – ASDP Ketapang Ferry Port Banyuwangi to Gilimanuk Bali, will be temporarily closed during the implementation of Hari Raya Nyepi 2023.
The closure was based on a letter from the Ministry of Transportation Directorate General of Land Transportation BPTD Region XI East Java Province Number AP.001/1/7/BPTD-XI/III/2023.

According to the letter, the last regular ship service from ASDP Ketapang Port to Gilimanuk, done on Tuesday (21/3/2023) o'clock 22.00 WIB.
The boat crossing service will be closed on Wednesday (22/3/2023) o'clock 00.00 WIB. The crossing is operating again on Thursday (23/3/2023) o'clock 05.00 WIB.
Meanwhile from Gilimanuk Port, Bali, Boat crossing services are closed on Wednesdays 06.00 Wita and reopen on Thursday (23/3/2023) o'clock 06.00 pm.

Head of the Banyuwangi Transportation Service, Pudjo Hartanto said, the temporary closure was carried out in order to welcome Nyepi in Bali.
“This is to welcome the Caka New Year Nyepi Day 1945,” Pujo said, to Kompas.com, Monday (20/3/2023).
Meanwhile the General Manager of PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry Ketapang-Gilimanuk, M Yasin admitted that he had prepared a scenario in case of overcrowding, either before or after Nyepi Day.
The scenario meant by setting up two terminals as parking pockets, so that there is no queue of vehicles entering the port.
“We prepare two terminals when there is congestion. At Sritanjung Terminal and Cargo Terminal,” said Yasin.
