Previously, Indonesian Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur, Hermono, expressed concern that Indonesian maids may not be able to receive RM's salary 1.500 or approx 5 million rupiah promised in the memorandum of understanding signed between M Saravanan and Indonesian Manpower Minister Ida Fauziya.
He said the MoU made it clear that employers must pay domestic workers "no less than RM 1,500" directly to their bank accounts..
"Maybe now people will say, 'My government does not agree to pay. So I follow my government. I will not pay RM1,500.'
