BANYUWANGI – Sudjiwo Tejo hadir di Banyuwangi kemarin. The eccentric cultural man who was born in Jember became a special guest on the Untag campus 1945 Banyuwangi. Author of the book “Republic of Jancukers, The Njancuki Ideal Country” was invited as a resource in cultural dialogue and musicalization.
The artist whose real name is Agus Hadi Sudjiwo was present as a guest star to give lectures about culture to students.. Not only cultural dialogue, born actor 31 August 1962 he also had the opportunity to dissect his book entitled Serat Tripama Gugur Cinta di Maespati.
With book editor Ulil Maulida, he revealed the contents of the book in the form of a graphic novel with music, which was the first in Indonesia. On the occasion of the dialogue yesterday, Sudjiwo Tedjo reminisced more about his life in the past.
Banyuwangi was so embedded in his life before it was famous as it is today. Sudjiwo Tedjo remembers when he was young he used to come to Banyuwangi to sing. "I remember that I used to sing on Jalan Bogowonto No 17. After singing I was told to go in to eat fried rice. His son who has a very beautiful house,” recalled Tedjo who was immediately greeted with laughter from the students.
In between dialogues, The writer of the Wayang Darung Pho column in Jawa Pos revealed that Banyuwangi is the repository of art on the island of Java. Banyuwangi art and culture, by Tedjo, has its own characteristics and is certainly different from other areas on the island of Java.
“Banyuwangi music and language are different. I'm reminded of the Banyuwangi song that I used to sing when I was singing," he said. Tedjo immediately took his guitar and sang an old Banyuwangi song entitled "Gelang Alit".
He also invited all students who were present to sing the song by the late Fatrah Abal accompanied by Sudjiwo Tedjo's guitar strum.. ”Widyang kopi belong nongko. Remember, it's not a wedang, but widyang. This is a special feature of the Banyuwangi language,” said Tedjo while singing the song Bracelet Alit.
Separately, Chancellor Untag 1945 Banyuwangi, Andang Subaharianto, said that his party deliberately brought Sudjiwo Tedjo to make students more culturally literate. According to him, Sudjiwo Tedjo is a great person with a broad mind, remember other than writers, Tedjo used to be a senior journalist too.
