BANYUWANGI – A cell phone tower worker (Tower) owned by PT. Telecommunications Partner Power (DMT) died after falling from the end of the tower due to a broken safety rope, Tuesday (13/11/2018). The victim is Bambang Hadi Purwanto (32) Ndarungan Hamlet residents, Tegalarum village, Sempu Kecamatan District, Banyuwangi Regency.

The victim breathed his last at Alhuda Hospital, Gambiran, due to severe injuries to the head and broken bones in several parts of the body.

The police who received reports from residents, went directly to the scene of the incident in Krajan Hamlet, Setail Village, Tile District, to conduct an examination and ask for information from eyewitnesses of the incident to find out the cause of the accident.

“Korban sempat dilarikan ke rumah sakit oleh teman kerjanya, because he was badly injured, victim finally died,” ungkap Kapolsek Genteng, Commissioner Samsodin, through the Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Pudji Wahyono.

Pudji also said, This victim, who was working for the first time, fell when he was about to install a new device at the end of the tower with a height 50 meter. It is suspected that the victim fell due to the safety rope attached to the victim's body being cut off due to friction with the tower material.

“Kita akan lakukan penyelidikan terkait kasus kecelakaan ini. To know for sure the cause of this accident, tower owner, project head and victim's co-workers, we will ask all," he said.
