No need to hesitate to seek treatment at the health center

BANYUWANGI – Pemkab Banyuwangi terus memacu langkah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan kesehatan di kabupaten ujung timur Pulau Jawa ini. One way to do this is by equipping health facilities and the number of doctors at the Puskesmas. The Banyuwangi Regency Government handed over four ambulances to the leaders of four Community Health Centers in Bumi Blambangan. The ambulance was handed over by Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas at the Banyuwangi Regency Government office yesterday (2/9).

Before submission, Regent Anas gave directions to all heads of Health Centers in Banyuwangi, the doctors, and dentists on duty at the Puskesmas. Also present at the event was Deputy Regent (Vice Regent) Yusuf Widyatmoko, District Secretary (district secretary) Slamet Kariyono, and Task Executor (Plt) Head of Health Service (Health Office) Widji Lestariono. Regent Anas said, peran Puskesmas sangat vital lantaran menjadi frontline pelayanan kesehatan masyarakat.

Because of that, Puskesmas must be able to provide optimal services. Puskesmas staff must provide friendly service, Besides that, Health workers are required to provide the best service. “We have to make the Puskesmas a comfortable place, so that the services provided can be part of the patient's healing efforts. Because of the psychology of some people, if not go to the hospital (RS), confident will not recover," he said.

Regent Anas added, with the addition of the four ambulance units, It is hoped that the quality of service will increase. An ambulance each was given to the Kedungwungu Health Center, Genteng Kulon Health Center, Cabbage Health Center, and Singotrunan Health Center, It is hoped that the service will be closer to the community. Additional ambulances are also expected to support emergency first aid activities (PPGD) and strengthen one call service.

Besides that, The addition of an ambulance is also expected to be optimized as a health promotion tool. “Currently there are still four Puskesmas whose ambulances are inadequate. We will finish this next year, said Anas. Regent Anas ordered, Ambulance is not only used to transport patients from the health center to the hospital. Ambulances are also expected to be used to pick up underprivileged residents to the Puskesmas.

Still according to Anas, his party targets that in the future the Community Health Center will become the frontline for the services of the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) Health. In addition, not all BPJS patients can be referred to hospitals, it also serves to minimize costs, both funding from the government and financing of patients and their families. "Currently there are more and more health centers in Banyuwangi with additional treatment rooms and inpatient rooms," he explained.

Banyuwangi Regency Government also continues to encourage the completeness of facilities 45 Community Health Centers spread throughout the district. At the moment, all puskesmas have complete primary health care equipment, dental unit services, quite a sophisticated laboratory. There is even a health center equipped with radiology and ultrasound services. All of these health centers are supported by 60 general practitioner. “Patients who come to the Puskesmas need not hesitate anymore because the facilities at the Puskesmas are complete and served by reliable doctors, said Regent Anas.

All Puskesmas are also equipped with ambulance services. And 17 Community health centers have inpatient facilities. "We will continue to expand the reach of inpatient health centers. It is enough for patients who are far from cities and hospitals to be treated at the nearest puskesmas,"said Regent Anas. The district government is also committed to improving the quality of public health through other efforts. One of them is the two hospitals belonging to the Banyuwangi Regency Government, namely the Blambangan Hospital and the Tile Hospital, as a network hospital of Unair.

The two RSUDs will be used as practice places for participants in the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) Unair Faculty of Medicine. Networking with FK Unair is also intended as an effort to meet the needs of specialist doctors in Banyuwangi. “We know that Unair's Faculty of Medicine is one of the oldest and best in Indonesia. Of course with this collaboration Unair can help improve health services in Banyuwangi, candidate- prospective doctors from Unair can also conduct research and assist with services in Banyuwangi," he concluded.
