Dragged by the waves on the Red Island Beach, Tourists from Sidoarjo have been rescued

BANYUWANGI – A tourist from Sidoarjo Regency was swept away by the waves while bathing on Pulau Merah Beach, Kecamatan Pesanggaran, Banyuwangi Regency, Tuesday (25/12/2018).

Kasatpolairud Polres Banyuwangi, AKP Subandi said, the known victim named Septia came with a group from Sidoarjo carrying a fleet of four buses.

When it happened, the victim was having fun playing on the beach with his friends. However, the victim did not realize that in fact he had crossed the safe bathing line set by the management, until dragged by the waves.

"Fortunately there were visitors around who were playing surfing managed to save, finally the victim was helped,said AKP Subandi.

AKP Subandi added, the victim was unconscious because he drank a lot of sea water. However, after first aid was carried out, the victim was finally saved.

“Peselancar di lokasi wisata Pantai Pulau Merah Pesanggaran turut membantu berupaya mengeluarkan air laut yang sempat tertelan oleh korban," he explained.

For this event, The Banyuwangi Satpolair Police will continue to appeal to the public or tourists to comply with the rules issued by the management of Pulau Merah Beach.

“Ini untuk meminimalisir insiden laka laut diwilayah hukum Polres Banyuwangi," he concluded.
