BANYUWANGI – Cuaca dingin di Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Mount Ijen can now drop to a temperature of 3 degrees Celsius. However, these conditions do not affect the number of tourist visits.

Reported from Merdekacom, Head of TWA Gunung Ijen Resort, Sigit Hari Wibowo explains, the number of domestic and foreign tourists is recorded to continue to increase.

“Kalau jumlah kunjungan kita masuk di high season, so there is no effect for the amount. Visit, even more and more every day, said Sigit, Thursday (18/7/2019).

The number of foreign tourists visiting Mount Ijen currently reaches 150-200 people per day. Meanwhile, for domestic tourists reaching 250 until 500 people per day.

“Perhari untuk wisatawan Mancanegara mulai beranjak naik Sekarang sudah masuk di bulan high season untuk kunjungan Mancanegara," he said.

Sigit added, the temperature on the hiking trail of Mount Ijen starting at the departure post or commonly called Paltuding can reach 3 degrees Celsius. These conditions are mainly between 02.00 – 04.00 WIB.

From there, he appealed to tourists to better prepare climbing equipment.

“Kawah Ijen memasuki 3 degrees are recommended to visitors to complete warm clothes, said Sigit.

“Dan sebelum melakukan pendakian disarankan untuk mengonsumsi minuman hangat atau makanan yang sifatnya hangat. So that unwanted things do not happen such as stomach cramps when you are at the peak,” he added.

Meanwhile, The Mount Ijen TWA itself has prepared temperature measuring facilities at several points on the hiking trail. Tourists can finally directly monitor the temperature conditions in Ijen, starting from the initial path of the climb, rest post to the top.

“Ada beberapa titik pemasangan termometer yang bisa dilihat oleh pengunjung agar bersiap siap sebelum melakukan pendakian untuk menggunakan penghangat,” terang Sigit.

“Termometer ada di pos pemeriksaan satu, then in the shop there are two, then at the top there is one in the hut. Can see the temperature change between Paltuding and Ijen Crater," he concluded.
