BANYUWANGI – A young man with the initials SAP (23) from the village of Krajan, Setail Village, Tile District, Banyuwangi Regency, had to be secured by the police because he was suspected of stealing a laptop from his own neighbor's house.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Genteng Police, Iptu Pudji Wahyono said, based on inspection results, The perpetrator also admitted to stealing the victim's camera which was next to the laptop.
“Korban yang saat itu pulang dari Bali mendapati laptop dan handycame miliknya tidak ada di tempat. Then the victim asked his mother, but his mother did not know the whereabouts of these items,” ungkap Iptu Pudji, Tuesday (23/7/2019).
“Setelah dilakukan pencarian, date exactly 22 July 2019, the victim was told by a neighbor who was cleaning the perpetrator's house at that time, found the victim's laptop case. Then the victim contacted the Genteng Police and an arrest was made,he explained.
When an arrest is made, Puji continued, evidence that the perpetrator had not yet sold was hidden in the ceiling of his house.
“Barang bukti berupa Laptop dan Handycame belum sempat dijual oleh pelaku,” jelas Iptu Pudji.
“Atas perbuatanya pelaku akan dikenakan pasal 362 Criminal Code regarding the crime of theft,” he said.
