Steal Neighbor's Laptop, Youth from Genteng Secured by Police

BANYUWANGI – A young man with the initials SAP (23) from the village of Krajan, Setail Village, Tile District, Banyuwangi Regency, had to be secured by the police because he was suspected of stealing a laptop from his own neighbor's house.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Genteng Police, Iptu Pudji Wahyono said, based on inspection results, The perpetrator also admitted to stealing the victim's camera which was next to the laptop.

“The victim, who at that time returned from Bali, found that his laptop and camcorder were not there. Then the victim asked his mother, but his mother did not know the whereabouts of these items,” said Iptu Pudji, Tuesday (23/7/2019).

“After searching, date exactly 22 July 2019, the victim was told by a neighbor who was cleaning the perpetrator's house at that time, found the victim's laptop case. Then the victim contacted the Genteng Police and an arrest was made,” clear.

When an arrest is made, Puji continued, evidence that the perpetrator had not yet sold was hidden in the ceiling of his house.

“Evidence in the form of laptops and handy cameras have not been sold by the perpetrators,” explained Iptu Pudji.

“For his actions the offender will be subject to the article 362 Criminal Code regarding the crime of theft,” strictly.
