BANYUWANGI – Pelabuhan Tanjung Wangi, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, which is under the authority of Pelindo III, recorded a positive performance regarding the flow of ship visits until February 2018.
Recorded number of ship visits until February 2018 as much 184 units with gross tonnage (GT) 660,494. When compared to the same period February 2017 only recorded as much as 96 units with gross tonnage 165,290 GT.
Comparison between years 2017 and 2018 in terms of ship units, an increase of 92 percent and GT increased by 300 percent. The increase was also followed by the berth occupancy ratio (BOR) who reached 16,74 percent compared to the same period last year.
“Telah terjadi tren positif di Pelabuhan Tanjung Wangi sejak awal tahun 2018 who reached 111 percent in gross tonnage (GT). The increase was from the type of loading and unloading services for bulk fertilizer and liquid fuel,” kata General Manager PT Pelindo III Cabang Tanjung Wangi Lina Ratnasari.
“Sejak Januari 2018, the average ship that docks at Tanjung Wangi Harbor is large with a length above 160 meters that serve loading and unloading activities of bulk and bag cargo. With the size of the ship getting bigger, it automatically increases the level of use of the dock,” he added.
Lina revealed, Foreign-flagged ships are now starting to routinely enter through Tanjung Wangi Port by unloading cargo in the form of food and liquid bulk such as the MT Raina ship with GT 14.320 LOA 156 Singapore flag. In year 2018, he is optimistic that there will be positive achievements at Tanjung Wangi Port.
“Dengan dimulainya kegiatan bongkar muat offshore pada pertengahan tahun 2018, will automatically be in line with the level of land use and warehouse in our area,” kata Lina.
