SILIRAGUNG – Changes in weather and climate are caused by an increase in CO2 gas in the air. This potential causes other environmental impacts such as sea abrasion. Various attempts were made to overcome it. Among them by maximizing the role of plants as CO2 absorbers and windbreaks and sea abrasion. The type of plant chosen is waru tree (hibiscus tiliaceus L.), nyamplung tree (calophyllum inophyllum), and sea pandan (pandanus tectorius) as a savior of environmental problems.
This is what the big family of SMP Muhammadiyah does 5 Siliragung by carrying out reforestation in the Rowo Bayu Tourism Ecotourism area, Buluagung Village yesterday. With the support of all components, this school compactly carried out reforestation in the area that was included in the Purwosari BKPH Pendotan RPH area. This activity is actually an annual agenda of the school. This agenda was carried out to invite students to get to know, love, and study nature directly.
According to the curriculum 2013, This event is expected to foster the character of students' concern for the natural environment. Inevitably this activity also invited enthusiasm from among the students of this school. Besides saving nature, they can also know and study plants directly. This is at least evident from the provision of materials provided by Polhut Purwosari Murofiq and Principal Margono AD, S.Pd before students go into the field.
This activity was attended by all students and the principal of the school, the board of teachers and SMP Muhammadiyah employees 5 Siliragung. This activity also received appreciation from Eko Mulyanto as the Head of Asper/ KBKPH Pedotan, Suroto KRPH Puwosari, and Murofi q, SH as Polhuter Purwosari.
