Banyuwangi Food Task Force Monitors Rice Stock and Prices on the Market, Urge Residents Not to Panic Buy – Tribunjatim.com

TRIBUNJATIM.COM, BANYUWANGI – The Banyuwangi Food Task Force Team monitors stock availability and rice prices in Rogojampi market, Banyuwangi, Friday (23/2/2024).

Monitoring results show, safe rice stock, but the price is still high.

Monitoring by the Food Task Force Team led by the Deputy Regent of Banyuwangi, Sugirah, Banyuwangi Police Chief, Police Commissioner Nanang Haryono, and Head of Bulog Banyuwangi, Harisun.

The team visited rice traders at the traditional market.

The availability of rice is relatively guaranteed, although the prices of some types are expensive.

Traders sell SPHP medium rice for Rp 54.500 per packaging 5 kg. This is the highest retail price for rice produced by Bulog.

Meanwhile, premium rice is sold at around Rp 77.500 per 5 kg.

Apart from checking rice stocks and prices, The Banyuwangi Food Task Force also looked at market operations which were held at a location not far from the market.

Over there, Residents queue to get rice at a cheaper price, i.e. Rp 51 thousand per package.

Sugirah explained, checking stock and prices of rice in the market to find out conditions in the field.

“Cheap market operations were also held to ensure that people were not confused. We keep the price so that it doesn't become a game,” said Sugirah.

Although the price is relatively expensive, Sugirah said, Rice stocks in Banyuwangi are still safe for the next five months.

Rice stocks in the Bulog warehouse are still maintained at numbers 8.500 million tons.
