Radarbanyuwangi.id – Suspected of smuggling illegal teak wood, Suroto, 45, from the village of Krajan, Siliragung Village/District, was arrested by joint members of the Siliragung Police and the South Banyuwangi KPH Perhutani Police on Tuesday (7/5) around 02.00.
The suspect was arrested while carrying dozens of teak logs on the main road in Barurejo Village in an L300 pickup with plate number P 1036 XJ.
“We secure the wood at TPK Benculuk (Cluring District),” cetus Administered (Adm) South Banyuwangi KPH Forestry, Wahyu Dwi Hadmojo.
According to Revelation, The L300 pickup truck carrying teak wood was intercepted by the police at around 1:00 p.m 02.00 on the Barurejo Village road, Siliragung District.
"At that time we will carry out a joint patrol in the Curahlele RPH forest, BKPH Pesanggaran," he explained.
When the patrol entered the forest area, it entered the Senepo Lor Hamlet area, Barurejo Village, Siliragung District, saw a pickup truck carrying heavy goods covered with a tarpaulin.
“We are suspicious, we follow, then we stop on the Barurejo Village road,He said.
At that time, it's clear, in the car there were two people. But one of the perpetrators who served as a driver managed to escape. Meanwhile, the only people arrested were kernet.
"There's it in the car 16 teak wood that is still in logs, we hand it over to the police for legal proceedings," he said.
Siliragung Police Chief, AKP Mujiono confirmed that there was an arrest of a loaded L300 pickup 16 teak wood logs.
