TRIBUNJATIM.COM, BANYUWANGI – As much 117 content containing fake news, aka hoaxes about the election 2024 taken down by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) throughout 2023.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, when inaugurating the LPP TVRI Digital Transmitter in Banyuwangi Regency., Friday (14/11/2023).
“Exist 117 the issue of hoaxes and that is specifically a political issue,” Arie said.
According to Arie, more than a hundred hoax issues targeted all presidential candidates. Not a single presidential candidate has escaped being targeted by spreading hoaxes.
Arie explained, The discovery of hoax content was the result of a cyber patrol by the Anti-Hoax Task Force formed by Kominfo.

Task force formed in November 2023 It was prepared to welcome the election.
The task force is tasked with patrolling the digital space to look for content that contains incorrect information. Apart from hoaxes, including content containing disinformation and misinformation.
“Kominfo has formed an anti-hoax task force for the elections 2024 because our big narrative at Kominfo is peaceful elections,” he said.

Apart from being taken down, some of the content containing fake news is also being processed by law.
“We process the account, If we violate the law, we hand it over to law enforcement. For the process (the law) Not yet, that's because there is a complaint offense,” said Arie.
