Banyuwangi hits.en – After several days of heavy rainfall, flood hit Setail Village, Tile District, Banyuwangi Regency, Friday (07/07/23).
But, some people get blessings after being hit by calamity, like the sand miners at Setail Dam, Setail Village, Banyuwangi tile district.
As a result of the flood, sand from the upstream piles up around the Setail Dam. So, the miners did not have to laboriously dive in the river to gather sand.
"There's a lot of sand, no need to dive into the river to find good sand,” said Congratulations (50), a sand miner, residents of Dusun Jalen, Setail Village, Tile District, Banyuwangi.
Congratulations explained, to get fine sand, usually it should dive into the middle of the river to the depth of an adult's neck.
“Now just look on the sidelines, you can get a good one, no need to sift again,” he added.
In a different location, Water Resources Coordinator (Korsda) Tile Sawardi said, the accumulation of sand sediments when the water discharge increases is used to occur.
