TIMES BANYUANGI, BANYUWANGI - Start 1 February 2025, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Area 9 Jember (KAI Daop 9 Jember) Officially applies a train trip graph (Gapeka) 2025.
This change is marked by an increase in the speed of the train (KA) on some tracks and the addition of new routes to Banyuwangi.
KAI Daop Legal and Public Relations Manager 9 Jember, Cahyo Widiantoro, ask the public to be more careful when passing through a level crossing. This is because the speed of the train on some tracks will be increased up to 120 km/hour.
Increased speed of this train trip as an effort to shorten the travel time and come into force 1 February 2025, Along with the enactment of Gapeka 2025.
As an example, in the Jember Station - Malasan Station, previously 80 kilometer per hour becomes 100 kilometer per jam. While in the Leces Station - Pasuruan Station, The speed of the train reaches 120 kilometer per jam.
"We urge the public to always be careful and obey the signs when crossing the level crossing, given the significant increase in rail speed,"Cahyo said, Jum’at (31/1/2025).
Besides increasing speed, Gapeka 2025 also adds to the frequency of train travel in Daop 9 Jember, from 22 regular trip and 2 facultative (run at a certain time), Becomes 24 regular trip and 2 Facultative starts 1 February.
As for the Banyuwangi route, The frequency of travel increases from 16 Regular and 2 facultative, Becomes 20 regular train trip every day.
This addition is in line with the operation of the Ijen Express Ketapang - Malang and the extension of the Logawa train relations that were previously Jember – Purwokerto Becomes Ketapang - Purwokerto.
"We see an increase in the demand for travel to Banyuwangi, both from tourists and the general public. With the addition of this frequency, We hope to increase customer connectivity and comfort,” Cahyo explained.
KAI Daop 9 Jember also reminded that in its operational areas there 327 crossing, with 303 Among these are a level crossing. Of these, 167 The crossing is not maintained, until society is asked to be more careful.
