BANYUWANGI – Before Ramadan 1440 Hijri year 2019, the prices of basic necessities in Banyuwangi traditional markets are starting to creep up, Wednesday (1/5/2019) morning.

Reported from Arahjatimcom, garlic which was the previous price only 28 thousand, now rise to be 44 thousand per kilogram.

Many garlic traders in the market have complained about rising prices. Because, The increase that occurred since before the election caused revenue to decline due to the lack of buyers.

Asmuni, Banyuwangi Market traders said, usually people buy one kilogram, because the price is expensive, the buyer reduces it to half a kilo.

“Sometimes they don't even want to buy. We object to the long-standing high price of garlic. Starting before the election until now it has not gone down and out,Asmuni said.

The price of shallots has actually fallen since the last few days. Shallots at the previous price 40 thousand, now down to 34 thousand per kilogram.

While the price of other staples such as red chili, Cayenne pepper, Tomatoes and ranti are still relatively stable.

At the moment, red chili sold at a price 28 thousand per kilogram, Cayenne pepper 30 thousand per kilogram. While the price of tomatoes and rice lentils actually fell from the previous price 18 thousand, currently be 10 thousand per kilogram.

Meanwhile, The traders hope that the government will immediately provide a solution so that the price of garlic returns to normal. Because currently the stock of garlic is piling up and there are fears that it will rot due to not being sold.

“Hopefully the price of garlic will drop soon. The other cooks are already down, but the garlic hasn't gone down yet. We want prices to stabilize 25 thousand or 28 thousand per kilogram,” said one of the traders, Misnaya.

“Now garlic is not selling well, because they are expensive. It's in the stock warehouse, lots of worries it's rotting," he concluded.
