SMOOTH – The first day of the Ijen Summer Jazz which was held at the Jiwa Jawa Resort amphitheater, The Licin District is full of intimacy, last night (6/10). Musicians and audiences can interact with each other. The location of the cool jazz performance adds to the excitement of the audience in enjoying the classy music.
The open space of Jiwa Jawa Resort provides a place for a splash of traditional Banyuwangi art and jazz musicians from various communities who attended last night. This year's Ijen Summer Jazz was held two days in a row, i.e. date 6 and 7 October 2017.
This performance presents the art of Oseng music combined with jazz music, make the visitors and invited guests even more curious. The event opened with the dance of Paju Gandrung and Barong Oseng, right at 16.00. Next, visitors are presented with the appearance of Student Jazz Banyuwangi which has been prepared to be the opening of the event.
The Inspector General of Summer Jazz was guided directly by the brothers Butet Kertaradjasa and Djaduk Ferianto. The impression of humor and tickling adorned the laughter of visitors and invited guests when the two hosts brought out fresh jokes.
Ijen Summer jazz featured the NonaRia group performing with Bonita by singing six songs. Then continued with the appearance of vocalist Luanada feat Mathew Sayersz.

Even though it was raining, Ijen Summer Jazz is still lively. The event was temporarily postponed due to drizzling rain. Then the visitors and invited guests are invited by the MC to look around the collection of painting and photo galleries while waiting for the rain to stop.
“This rain is a blessing and it is hoped that the Ijen Summer Jazz event will remain consistent and become one of the festivals that jazz music lovers always await,” said Djaduk.
