BANYUWANGI – Head of East Java Scout Movement District Headquarters who is also the Representative of the Governor of East Java, Saifullah Yusuf, opened the Kampung Kelir Entrepreneurial Festival in Temenggungan Village, Banyuwangi, yesterday (3/4). Gus Ipul's presence (Saifullah Yusuf's nickname) welcomed by Banyuwangi Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas and Chairman of the Banyuwangi Scout Branch Quarter, Yusuf Widyatmoko.
In that festival, as much 1.000 Scout cadres from the former Besuki Residency, namely from Banyuwangi Regency, Situbondo, and Bondowoso was involved in beautifying and coloring Temenggungan Village, Banyuwangi District.
On that occasion, Gus Ipul appreciated the development performance in Banyuwangi. Currently, all regions continue to compete to make changes, but Banyuwangi did it more quickly and with full acceleration.
Banyuwangi is considered by Gus Ipul to be able to take a gap in the midst of such tight competition, so that some of its innovations have proven capable of producing significant changes. For example, through the Banyuwangi Festival which has been held regularly since 2012 with dozens of tourist events every year, and able to boost the tourism sector in this district at the eastern tip of the island of Java.
"The East Java Scout activities started in Banyuwangi because they wanted to capture the spirit of Banyuwangi and Regent Anas, because Banyuwangi is making changes and development so quickly,” said Gus Ipul on the sidelines of opening the Kampung Kelir Entrepreneurial Festival, yesterday (3/4).
Gus Ipul is optimistic that Banyuwangi can continue to be a favorite destination for tourists in East Java and Indonesia. Especially, Now access to Banyuwangi is also getting easier because it can be reached by air, sea, and land. “We are not ashamed to duplicate what is good, so the name of this Scout activity is also a festival. This is duplicating (festival) which was successfully held in Banyuwangi," he said.
He added, East Java Scouts continue to carry out various positive activities in the community. Scouts are involved in various programs that can contribute to the public, such as anti-drug education and love for the environment. Besides that, also with real action to organize the village like in the Wirakarya Festival
"Kelir Pramuka Village" which was held in Temenggungan Village, on 3-6 April 2017. Meanwhile, Banyuwangi Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas is grateful for the appreciation given by the Deputy Governor of East Java Syaifullah Yusuf who continues to encourage Banyuwangi.
"The progress achieved by Banyuwangi certainly cannot be separated from the encouragement of the East Java Provincial Government and Pakde Karwo (Governor of East Java) and Gus Ipul as its leader," said Regent Anas. Forward, continued Anas, Central government, province, and districts/cities need to continue to improve the synergy that has been well established so far. Communication with the central and provincial governments is mandatory because district/city governments are part of the center and provinces.
