The presence of this two-wheeled carcass is to add to the attraction of visitors. Another goal is to increase the diversity of coral reefs in the sea. Because, The motorbikes that are known to be fake can be used as places for coral reefs to grow.
There are recorded 13 submerged motor unit on the seabed. The vehicle is a motorbike that was raided by the Banyuwangi Police Traffic Unit which has no owner and is stalled. So that these motors can be useful, Satlantas took the initiative to sink to the bottom of the sea so that it could become a place for coral reefs to grow.
If coral reefs have grown on these motorbikes, Another hope, of course, is that the fish can return to inhabit the coastal area in the northern region of Banyuwangi. Just knowing, GWD Beach is one of the assets belonging to the Banyuwangi Regency Government.

“The planting of FADs from used vehicles involves Satpolair and divers from KUB Pesona Bahari. Setup takes about three hours, we weld each motorbike to each other and we tie it firmly on the seabed so it doesn't get lost in the current,"explained the police officer who is familiarly called Pak Haji.
Expected, Dozens of motorbikes parked on the seabed attract local and domestic tourists who dive and snorkel at GWD. So that the beaches in the Wongsorejo area are becoming more global because the damaged coral reefs have grown again.
"Now if we dive to the bottom of the sea it still looks like a parked motorbike. Later it will be more interesting if coral reefs have grown above the FADs,"said Samirin, Chairperson of the Pesona Bahari KUB, Abdul Azis |, predicts corals will look lush in FADs in the next year or so.
He learned this theory based on the coral transplant his group did before planting FADs from used motorcycles. “The coral transplant we used to do has grown. The charm can be seen when we snorkel or dive at GWD Beach. Not just coral reefs, The ornamental fish that used to be lost after the rampant bombing have now returned," he said.
Planting used motorcycles as FADs is a continuation program of KUB Pesona Bahari in saving marine ecosystems. This step is in line with the stretching of tourism growth in Banyuwangi, especially marine tourism.
“Fishermen who used to bomb corals to catch fish have come to their senses and have joined in conserving coral reefs. Many of them have even switched professions to become tourism actors so that the GWD area is safe from bombings,"he said. (radar)
