KALIPURO – Banyuwangi Regency Government continues to promote tourism potential through a series of festival performances. This time, it raised the potential of agriculture and animal husbandry through the Gombengsari Farm Festival (GFF).

The festival is centered on the Sumbermanis tourism area, Gombengsari Village, Kalipuro District. Gombengsari was chosen because it has potential for goat farming and coffee plantations.

In the arena there are various zones. Start the coffee zone, goat, and processed animal products. Gombengsari has tremendous potential. The weather is cool so it is very suitable to be a leading tourist destination in the region.

“This village is suitable for ecotourism development. This village has great potential to be developed into sports tourism. Besides enjoying the cool weather, in Gombengsari we can see coffee plantations, processing to Etawah goat farming,” said Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas when opening the Gombengsari Farm Festival, yesterday.

Interesting, In the arena of this festival, coffee events are also held, sucking, dan nyate weight. Nyate sekilo is an event where satay is skewered on a banana stem and burned simultaneously. The satay meat skewered on a banana stem weighs an average of one kilogram.

Don't worry, all visitors will get the satay,” said Santoso, 40, one of the Gombengsari Farm Festival committee.

In addition to being a kilo, There is also a goat fashion show using goat models that are decorated in such a way that they look charming. Farm festival events are focused on the fields of farming and animal husbandry in Gombengsari Village which are centered in Suko Hamlet.

After opening the festival, Regent Anas and his entourage went straight to the Ettawah goat farm at the camping ground location. Next, Anas headed for the satay grill to try how to burn a kilo of satay and taste the satay.

“The satay tastes good. This is called nyate sekilo,” he said while eating satay. Anas says, that the potential for agricultural and livestock products in Suko Hamlet, Gombengsari Village needs to get support from the government so that it can develop again.

The natural potential is also very beautiful, there are pine and mahogany forests which make the atmosphere cool. "I will invite investors from France to turn this Camping Ground into an out bond tourist area with various facilities,” he said.
