Coma, TKW from Tegalsari Dies in Hong Kong

BANYUWANGI – A Female Workforce (TKW) in the name of Sulikah (49) residents of Karangdoro Hamlet/Village, Tegalsari District, Banyuwangi Regency, died in Hong Kong, Tuesday (2/4/2019) o'clock 12.02 local time. Sulikah died while undergoing treatment at the North District General Hospital, Sheung Shui.

Reporting from timesindonesia, Chairman of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union (SBMI) Banyuwangi, Agung Sebastian said, Sulikah died after falling into a coma due to a foot infection she suffered.

“The deceased died because his suitcase fell on his leg while working. Because it was not treated quickly, he ended up experiencing an infection and had to be hospitalized for approximately two weeks,said the Great.

Sulikah, Agung said, started working in Hong Kong since 27 June 2016 as a household assistant. The plan, The repatriation of Suraji's wife's body will be carried out in the near future.

"We are still trying to communicate with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia there regarding the repatriation of the bodies,” Agung said.

“Currently still gathering the requirements, usually less than two weeks,” he added.

Head of Karangdoro Village, Tegalsari District, Banyuwangi Regency, Supriyadi confirmed that a member of his staff who worked as a migrant worker died in Hong Kong.

"Yes that's right, Sulikah is our citizen. The family already knows the news and accepts the situation,” he said.
