TRIBUNJATIM.COM, BANYUWANGI – A video of a man breaking a vehicle's car window on a highway in Banyuwangi went viral on social media. It is suspected that family problems were the background to the incident.

TribunJatim.com search shows, The video took place on the main road in Ambulu Village, Wongsorejo District, Banyuwangi Regency. It happened on Tuesday (21/11/2023) afternoon.

Wongsorejo Police Chief AKP Eko Darmawan confirmed this, the viral video occurred in his area.

In a video that is circulating, A black Honda BRV was seen stretching along one of the roads. The car looked like it had just been hit by a Toyota Sienta.

A man in a t-shirt and shorts hit the driver's side of the car window with a large rock. He pulled the door handle several times, but failed to open it.

From the look on his face, the man looked emotional.

Eco said, Traffic police officers came to the location after receiving news of the incident from residents. However, Conditions at the location were quiet when the authorities arrived there.

“When officers arrived at the location, conditions are quiet,” Eko said.

The police have also not received a report regarding the incident. However, Several eyewitnesses who were at the location have collected their statements.

“The cause is thought to be a family dispute. Say (witness), wife (car wrecker) want to go, but can't,” he said,” he continued.

Information received by the authorities, the incident has also been resolved in a family way. It means, those involved in the incident decided not to report it to the police station.

'The loss is damage to the vehicle. But there was no sacrifice. After being separated by the community, they went south,” he said.
