BANYUWANGI – Banyuwangi will be enlivened by various interesting events this weekend, Saturday to be exact – Sunday (25-26 August). Starting from the jazz music competition – Student Jazz Festival, traditional walk, and the Sego Lemeng and uthek Coffee Festival. What we can be certain of is, tourists will be spoiled by this day's event.
Banyuwangi Deputy Regent Yusuf Widyatmoko said every weekend in Banyuwangi is never separated from various interesting attractions. The official Banyuwangi Festival itself, Banyuwangi is here 77 events that are held every weekend, like three of them this weekend.

This series of events will be started by the Student Jazz Feetival. The student jazz competition, which is entering its third year of implementation, will be held non-stop on Saturday (25/8) o'clock 09.00 until the evening at the Cultural Arts Building (Gesibu). Dozens of student bands from inside and outside the region performed at the Student Jazz Festival, good from Banyuwangi, Jember and Surabaya.
The participants will bring jazz music that is easy listening and Banyuwangi songs arranged with Jazz music. “This event is designed as a stage for local students to explore the talents and potentials of jazz music students. Through this event, children will be able to develop their wings, because on this occasion they will surely meet jazz communities who can provide a way,Said Yusuf.
Still on Saturday, o'clock 09.00 There will also be a traditional walking. Thousands of students from elementary to high school and the general public will take part in this annual event. There will be three categories of routes departing from different locations.
“The elementary group will circle the city route as far as 8 km, the junior high school group departed from the Srono District Office, while SMA is equivalent and general from the Gambiran District Office. Middle school and high school both finished at the T-junction of Rogojampi District,Said Yusuf.
The next day, Sunday (25/8) Sego Lemeng and Uthek Coffee Festival will be held, in the village of Banjar, Licin District. Sego lemeng is rice rolled in banana leaves and stuffed with minced chicken and tuna/salted fish.. Uthek coffee is coffee that is served in a different way. While uthek coffee, is coffee served with pieces of palm sugar (severe)
"The two culinary specialties are typical of the residents of Banjar Village. Tourists will see how rice is baked in bamboo strips, as well as how to enjoy the typical uthek Coffee,said the Head of the Culture and Tourism Office, M Yanuarto Bramuda.
