Plastic Wrapped Baby's Body Found in Blambangan Market Garbage

BANYUWANGI – The body of a newborn baby was found by residents in the Blambangan Market trash, Lateng Kelurahan Village, Banyuwangi District, Banyuwangi Regency, Thursday (8/8/2019) around 15.00 WIB.

Reported from Timesbanyuwangi, The female baby wrapped in blue plastic with the umbilical cord still attached is thought to have been thrown away less than 24 jam.

The police, who received this information, went straight to the location to evacuate and carry out the processing of the crime scene (crime scene).

Meanwhile, residents who crowded around the location did not dare to open the package containing the baby's body. The baby is wrapped in a blue plastic bag and then put in a cardboard box.

“The baby was allegedly abandoned by its parents,” said Kanitreskrim Polsek Banyuwangi, Ipda Nurmansyah.

“When found, already dead. At the scene of the incident found a sheet of clothes covered in blood,” he added.

Next, the police took the body of the poor baby to the morgue at the Blambangan Hospital, Banyuwangi, to be autopsied.

Furthermore, the police will examine several witnesses who allegedly knew about the disposal of the baby.

“We will examine the witnesses. Some of the evidence that we have secured from the location where the baby was found, namely, one black and blue plastic bag covered in blood, a piece of women's shirt covered in blood, two bloodstained sarongs and torn cloth with batik motifs,” explained Ipda Nurmansyah.
