GLENMORE – Glenmore Sugar Factory (PGG) officially operating from yesterday (2/8). Before inaugurating PGG which is located in Kalirejo Gardens, Karangharjo Village, Glenmore Kecamatan District, Minister Rini Mariani Suwarno, who was accompanied by the ranks of PTPN XII and PTPN XI, took a tour of the factory location.

“I am proud that this sugar factory is finished,He said. To the reporter, Minister Rini hopes that the factory can meet the expected target and can produce high yields. “I hope the sugar quality is good and the yield can reach the desired one," he said.

Minister Rini also asked for sugar cane raw materials from the plantations around the factory to be increased, including the selection of superior sugarcane seeds. "The sugarcane crop is approx 90 ton per hektare, in the future can 150 until 160 ton per hektare,"hope".

Minister Rini's hope is because of the factories and plantations, in this case PTPN XII, has committed to improve sugarcane raw materials and sugar quality. "I promised to use new seeds," he said.

Glenmore Sugar Factory is the newest factory built by BUMN. According to him, The last time the construction of a sugar factory was carried out by BUMN was in 1982 and the milling of the mill was carried out in 1985.

“A pride, after 31 year, today the first milling was carried out in a modern sugar factory, all done from scratch by Indonesian children," he said. Therefore, he hopes sugar factories owned by other state-owned enterprises can carry out various innovations so that their performance can improve.

"I hope, In the future, the sugar factories owned by PTPN will not be new but can carry out revitalization," he asked. President Director of PTPN XII, Irwan Basri, in his speech said, The Glenmore sugar factory uses a machine capable of increasing efficiency by up to 80 percent. Besides that, The resulting yield can be quite high up to eight percent.

"We believe the yield or sugar content in sugar cane can reach 8,5 until 9 percent. Of course sugar production will be maximized,He said. Meanwhile, President Director of PGG, Ade Prasetyo, revealed the first mill that was carried out to find out how far the mill can operate after the installation is complete.

“We grind first, see what's missing. This is the first grind while evaluating," he said. On that first grind, it's clear, The plan is that the sugarcane that will be milled for the first stage reaches 800 ton. Because seeing the readiness of the engine and factory components, the amount that was grinded was reduced quite a lot.

"We grind" 180 ton,” he added. According to Ade, engine problems are common in new factory construction. Currently, the stage that the factory goes through is commissioning or operational testing of a real job and in a simulation. This is to ensure that the work has been carried out and complies with all applicable regulations. So that, can know the shortcomings of the machine.

“This is a new machine, they apply for commissioning," he said. As known, PGG's investment value reaches Rp 1,5 trillion. The sugar factory, which is said to be the largest in Indonesia, is designed with a milling capacity 6.000 tons of sugarcane per day (TTH) and can be developed into 9.000 TTH.

The area reserved for sugar cane cultivation to meet PGG's raw material needs is 11.250 hectare. The factory is an integrated PG that will produce premium white sugar. PGG is designed as a modern factory.

The resulting waste will be managed into useful by-products. PGG was founded with PT. Archipelago Plantation (PTPN) XII and PTPN XI. (radar)
