Sprinter Kenya 10 K

EVEN running a marathon titled Banyuwangi International Run 2015 become a proving ground for foreign sprinters. Kenyan runners dominated the race for the championship in the class 10 K and 5 K yesterday. David Mutai finished in pole position in the category 10 K son.

He successfully finished the fastest with a record time 32 minute 6 second. David Mutai filled in, 29, from Kenya won the category 10 kilometers with a record time 32 minute 6 second. Whereas, on category 5 K's son was embraced by David's compatriot, Charles Kipsang.

This one sprinter is able to finish the fastest time with only 16 minute 10 second. On category 10 K women, the Kenyan sprinter was also able to lock in the fastest finish. She is Editah Koech who collected the fastest time viz 37 minute 35 second.

Whereas, on category 5 K women won by Zeine Ihsani. The non-local sprinter won the leading position with achievements 22 minute, 41 second. On category 5 K student boy, the champion belongs to Fajar Gilang with a record time 19 minute, 47 second.

And for categories 5 K student girl, the first winner was crowned to Septa Ari with time 25 minute 10 second. The international running competition was attended by around a thousand participants. The sprinters consist of various regions in the country.

There are recorded 7 sprinter from Kenya who participated in the event. This international running competition, which was held for the first time, completes the Banyuwangi Festival agenda. Although this is the first time this competition has been held, it has managed to attract the interest of participants from outside the city of Banyuwangi.

The Banyuwangi International Run was a success. The event with the theme Run and Enjoy The Culture caught the attention of various parties. (radar)
