BANGOREJO – Dozens of KUD members Margo Mulyo, Kebondalem Desa Village, Bangorejo District, visited the Bangorejo District office, yesterday (19/8). They demanded clarity on members' savings totaling around Rp 3 billion.
Member savings funds worth Rp 3 billion has been kept in KUD Margo Mulyo for several years. But, the funds cannot be disbursed. “The funds have been stalled for two years,"said one of the KUD members, Margo Mulyo.
The members of KUD Margo Mulyo who came to the sub-district office came from Kebondalem Village, Bangorejo District; Telu Ringin Village, Bangorejo District; and Sambirejo Village, Bangorejo District. “We want our money to be disbursed as quickly as possible,shouted another member.
The group of KUD members Margo Mulyo was received by the Head of Bangorejo District, Hardiono, head of Kebondalem Village, Iksan; Kanitreskrim Bangorejo Police, Chief of Staff Kardjono; and deputy KUD administrator Margo Mulyo, Suyitno. To the members of KUD Margo Mulyo, Suyitno, who represents the management said that currently the amount of money belonging to customers that is stuck is around Rp 3 billion.
The money was stuck for various reasons, one of which is that many members' loans are in default. “There are quite a lot of members who have borrowed and haven't paid,He said. Nevertheless, explained Suyitno, KUD Margo Mulyo administrators remain committed to resolving this problem by paying off members' money.
One way to pay members' savings is to sell assets in the form of buildings with an estimated value of Rp 10 billion. "We will still collect payments from members who have not paid their loans," he said. Suyitno said, The funds that were stuck at KUD Margo Mulyo were not due to embezzlement by a number of individuals.
This is purely a management issue and bad debts. Besides that, The collateral used by borrowers is mostly land certificates. “They use certificate guarantees, so we're having a bit of trouble,the excuse. The meeting between KUD Margo Mulyo members and the management got heated.
A number of members who were a little emotional urged the management to immediately disburse their savings. Until finally it was decided that every week the administrators of KUD Margo Mulyo had to report their performance to the Head of Bangorejo District.
“Management has promised the sub-district head to report the results of his work,” said the Head of Kebondalem Village, Iksan, who was the moderator at the meeting. Iksan hopes that the KUD will adhere to this commitment well so that the trust of residents who have savings funds will be relieved.
