TURNS – Welcome the Puter Kayun tradition (mass pleasure) which is carried out today, yesterday (13/7) Boyolangu residents held a tradition of tapekong and kebo-keboan processions around the village. So many spectators, Village roads in Boyolangu Village were jammed.
Residents piled up on the village road to watch the procession. During the parade, displayed all the arts from Boyolangu. There is kuntul art, barong, tapekong or ondel-ondel, infatuated, hadrah, patrol, flamethrower attraction, and stupid.
“The procession was carried out the day before Puter Kayun was held,explained Prasetyo, Boyolangu Village residents. During the cultural parade around the village, residents who became bored had experienced a trance while going around the village.
Residents who are possessed and act like buffalo actually become a spectacle for residents. The children also teased the possessed sleeper with loud whistles. People trust, displaying boredom in the procession is an expression of gratitude to God for the agricultural produce of Boyolangu residents.
Head of Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar) Banyuwangi, M. Yanuarta Bramuda, said the tradition of parading around the village was intended as an expression of gratitude for the agricultural produce of Boyolangu residents so far.
Meanwhile, tradition of Puter Kayun, according to Bram, It is a tradition to remember their ancestors, namely Great-grandfather Jakso, who used to meditate on Mount Silangu which is currently called Boyolangu.
The Puter Kayun tradition is a tradition in which the people of Boyolangu flock to Watudodol Beach. They traveled by buggy to Watudodol Beach on the tenth day after Idul Fitri (today).
