Five fish bombs or bondets were found accidentally by police officers in Banyuwangi. The bondet was found under a Loa tree in Sumbermulyo Hamlet, Tegaldelimo District.

Tegaldelimo Police Chief, AKP Bambang confirmed the discovery of five bondets which were usually used to fish illegally.

"Right. The five bondets were found by our member named Aiptu Wahyudi last Friday," said AKP Bambang Suprapto when confirmed by journalists, Saturday 12 June 2021.

According to AKP Bambang, At that time, Aiptu Wahyudi was actually looking for loa tree branches to use as ornamental plants. But when under the tree, he accidentally stepped on a black plastic package.

Initially Wahyudi thought the plastic package contained stones. But out of suspicion, he opened the plastic package. What a surprise, It turned out that the plastic package contained five fish bombs which looked still active.

At that moment, Aiptu Wahyudi immediately contacted AKP Bambang as his superior and the Tegaldelimo Koramil Commander, Inf Captain Ali Mukhaedori to inspect the bondet.

"The police together with Koramil went straight to the crime scene to confirm the bonds. It turns out it's true that it's a bondet that's usually used for fish bombs. We'll secure it straight away,"said Bambang.

Currently, the police together with the Tegaldelimo Koramil are conducting an investigation regarding who owns the five homemade bombs. (information/cal)
