Mutiara Timur KA vs LPG Truck in Banyuwangi, One Dead and Two Injured

BANYUWANGI – The Mutiara Timur train heading Banyuwangi-Surabaya crashed into an LPG gas cylinder carrier truck 3 kilograms at the Tegalmojo Railway junction, Gumirih Village, Singonjuruh District, Banyuwangi Regency, Friday (31/8/2018) around 15.00 WIB. The accident resulted in three victims. One victim died and two others were injured.

The death toll is, Mustakim (35), residents of Singotrunan Village, Banyuwangi. When it happened, Mustakim, who is an LPG cylinder salesman, sat on the bench of the unfortunate truck with the police number P 9091 UV with driver and kenek.

“LPG-loaded truck 3 kilograms and 3 person. The driver and staff member suffered minor and serious injuries. Meanwhile, one person who was a salesperson for LPG cylinders died. All three have been taken to the Singojuruh health center,” said Ipda Ardi Bita Kumala, Head of Laka at the Banyuwangi Police Traffic Unit at the scene.

Meanwhile, two people were injured, namely truck driver Krisna Prasetyo, Alasbuluh Villager, Wongsorejo and hit Aditya Arus Prayogo's truck, residents of Songgon Village/District. Krisna is seriously injured and Aditya is slightly injured.

Crime scene results, said Ardi, The accident occurred due to negligence of the truck driver carrying LPG gas cylinders 3 kilograms who did not see the train pass at the crossing of the car without crossing the door.

“Trucks from east to west. Then crossed the railroad tracks without seeing the Pearl of the East from the south to the north. Collision is unavoidable. Hit the left side of the truck body and the cargo scattered,” added.

Until now the police have not been able to examine the driver and the truck driver who are currently being treated at the Singojuruh health center. The examination will be carried out after both are healthy.
