storyAN old tomb complex can be found on the shores of the Sembulungan Peninsula. The building looks quite prominent among the other huts on the white sandy beach. The tomb complex is also surrounded by a wall. The gate is also pretty solid with the words "Welcome" at the top. Right on the north side of the complex there is a tomb.

The main building of the tomb is surrounded by walls and covered with a tiled roof. The floor of the building is coated with white ceramic, because there is no caretaker who takes care of the tomb, the area was less clean. ''Indeed there is no caretaker. Only once in a while if you really come here, we are the ones sweeping and cleaning,"Ujar Sunamin", a fisherman from the coast of Tratas, Muncar District.

Right in the middle of the building there is a white curtain, a kind of shroud, that surrounds and closes the tomb. The distance between the barrier cloth and the surrounding graves 1,5 meter. The cloth is fitted like a couch cover (bed) ancient that served as a mosquito repellent. When the curtain is opened, there are two tombs that are side by side. Judging from the shape and type of tombstone, The tomb is estimated to be tens to hundreds of years old.

However, The history of the origin of the tomb is still not very clear. That's because there are many versions that are developing in the community regarding the figures buried at that location. One of the versions circulating in the Muncar community, The tomb is the tomb of a pair of gandrung dancers in the past. That said, At that time, a traditional sea picking ceremony was being held in Muncar waters. Because the offerings given in the tradition are incomplete, disaster appears in the middle of the sea.

The pair of gandrung dancers died during the sea picking ceremony. Next, his body was buried in Tanjung Sembulungan not far from the dumping site of the Petik Laut offering. Because of that, there are residents who say the tomb is the tomb of Mbah Gandrung. Meanwhile, another version says, the tomb is the tomb of Sayid Yusuf.

Sayid Yusuf is known as the elder of Muncar fishermen. At every Muncar sea fishing activity, a pilgrimage is always held to the ma kam. In his lifetime, Sayid Yusuf really likes Gandrung, so that the fugitive is called the gandrung grave. Even, every pe tik sea, Gandrung art is staged around the tomb. It's to honor the elder.

Another version says, the complex is the tomb of Mbah Kalong. However, the reference that mentions the figure of Mbah Kalong is very minimal. Usually, residents of Banyuwangi, Situbondo, and surrounding, who made a pilgrimage to that location called the tomb the final resting place of Mbah Kalong. There are also those who call this tomb the sacred tomb of Mbah Agung Kalong. (radar)
