"To this day (yesterday) we have just received the resignation letters of two members of the Banyuwangi DPRD, namely Suminto and Nur Muhammad Ridwan,said the Secretary of the Banyuwangi DPRD, Sudirman, yesterday. Just know, Suminto was elected as the people's representative in the election 2009 then through the Hanura Party. However, at elections 2014 coming, he advanced as a candidate for the DPR RI from the Gerindra Party. Ridwan, who is a member of the Banyuwangi DPRD from the Gerindra Party, has now changed direction. The son-in-law of former regent Samsul Hadi will run as a candidate for the East Java Provincial DPRD from PDIP.
Nah, for running for office from a different party, Suminto and Ridwan chose to resign as members of the Banyuwangi DPRD. According to Sudirman, even though he has tendered his resignation as a member of the legislature, Suminto and Ridwan are still entitled to receive salaries and benefits which amount to around Rp 10 million per person per month. It says, Suminto and Ridwan must continue to fulfill their obligations as DPRD members during the decree (SK) Termination of Substitution between Time (PAW) from the governor has not yet come out.
