Hundreds of Elementary-Junior High School Students in Banyuwangi Enliven Independence Bikes

BANYUWANGI – Still in a series of National Festivals to celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia 73 year, Banyuwangi Regency Government once again held the Decorative Bike Parade Festival, Tuesday (14/8/2018). This parade was attended by hundreds of elementary/MI and SMP/MTs students throughout the Banyuwangi and Giri sub-districts.

The lively atmosphere is immediately presented when these hundreds of students pedal the decorative bicycles they ride. Besides being colorful, the shape of the decorative bicycle they ride is also unique and interesting. There is something that resembles a battle tank, love, VOC merchant ship, the traditional house of the Using Tribe of Banyuwangi, to miniatures of typical Banyuwangi fruits. Deputy Regent of Banyuwangi Yusuf Widyatmoko said:, This parade is part of a regional effort to instill the spirit of nationalism in children from an early age. Students are invited to imitate the patriotic spirit of the fighters who never gave up in reclaiming Indonesia's independence.

“This parade is not just a celebration, but as an instrument to remind us all, especially students, of the heroes' struggle. Let us emulate their spirit and courage. We continue to maintain the unity and unity of the nation,said Deputy Regent Yusuf.

This ornamental bicycle parade is followed 700 students from 7 SD/MI cluster and 6 Public/private junior high schools in Banyuwangi and Giri . sub-districts.

This year's festival, seems to carry a more diverse theme but focus on exploring the potential of Banyuwangi. The participants ride their decorative bicycles as far as 5 kilometers with a starting route from the front of the Banyuwangi Regency Government Office on Jl. A. Yani – Jl. Dr. Sutomo – Jl. Diponegoro –Jl. Pierre Tendean- Jl. MT Haryono – Jl. Colonel Sugiono – Jl. Brigadier General Katamso and returned to A Yani to finish in front of the Banyuwangi District office.

Along the route traversed, they look enthusiastic and cheerful. Even, once in a while someone seems to be waving their arms at the crowds crowding along the parade route. They are very enthusiastic to be part of the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day 73 This year.

Ibn Shah Faraz is one of them, class student 5 SDN I Lateng admitted that he was happy to be a participant in the ornamental bicycle parade. “I am very happy to be able to join the parade.
