Hey... Boyolangu Puter kayun

it's a custom to stand upright on the stone

The mountain fence around the edge

The roar of the waves is called Watudodol

THAT is a piece of the lyrics of a song sung by Slamet Darmadi, young man from Boyolangu Village, during the release ceremony 15 dokar in the Puter Kayun tradition last Wednesday (6/8). Aged men 23 that year he not only appeared as the singer of the annual tradition's opening song, He is also the creator of the song entitled Puter Kayun. Slamet Darmadi, who is familiarly called Darma, was inspired to create this song, because he remembered a childhood story that his grandfather had told him.

At that time, his grandfather told him about the history of the Puter Kayun tradition. That childhood story stuck in Darma's memory, so he was inspired to create a song. Just know, The Puter Kayun tradition is a tradition passed down from generation to generation by the residents of Boyolangu Village. They traveled by cart to Watudodol Beach on the tenth day of Eid al-Fitr. The tradition is a form of gratitude for the sustenance that God has given.

Besides that, This tradition is also held to commemorate their ancestors, namely Great-grandfather Jakso, who used to meditate on Mount Silangu, which is now called Boyolangu. At that time, Grandfather Jakso meditated in Boyolangu to ask his ancestors for permission to do dodol (unpack) the rock in Watudodol. That said, In the past, there were no roads in Watudodol. From that the name Watudodol emerged. Nah, from that history, Darma took the initiative to create the song Puter Kayun.

One night Darma remembered a story his grandfather had told him. At that time, Darma wrote lyrics about the history of the Puter Kayun tradition. Darma, as a son of the Boyolangu area, felt the need to create this song. "It was time to sleep, I remembered the history my grandfather told me about Great-Grandfather Jakso. I was inspired to create this song. I was inspired to create this song before someone outside Boyolangu created it,he said.

Meanwhile, The song Puter Kayun has actually been written since 2018 2012 then. In December 2012 then, Darma has written a poem which has now become a song of pride for the residents of Boyolangu Village. However, He admitted that at that time he still couldn't record because of limited funds. Puter Kayun Committee 2014 finally agreed to the costs of recording the song. Darma and his friends, Enggar, Kepatihan residents, arranged the song.

With the help of Enggar, Finally the song Puter Kayun was created. "This year's Puter Kayun committee asked me to compose a song about Puter Kayun, even though I already have the song. Because I haven't recorded this song yet, I asked the committee for financial assistance to cover recording costs,” explained the father of one child. Darma, who works as a welder every day, admits that he likes playing music.

His talent as a musician has been visible since school. He has been able to compose a song since class 2 senior High School. Darma's artistic blood was inherited from his father. “My son's great-grandfather used to be a palm reader. From there, perhaps the blood of art flows, said Gunawan, Darma's father. Interesting, two days before the recording process, Darma and his fellow Boyolongu youth friends first went to eat at Buyut Jakso next to the Baitul Mutaqien Mosque.

”Before recording, First, I visited Buyut Jakso's restaurant. The purpose of my coming to the grave was to say goodbye to my ancestors to compose a song. Thank God it went smoothly until we finished recording this song, said Gunawan. hope, with the creation of the song Puter Kayun, Boyolangu residents have pride in Boyolangu Village. Besides that, The song aims to ensure that Boyolangu residents do not forget this tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation.(radar)
