Crime cases in Banyuwangi have decreased throughout the year 2021. Meanwhile, the number of traffic accidents has increased.
Based on data from the Banyuwangi Police, crime cases until the end of the year 2021 reach 1.316 case.
While year 2020 then reach 1.358 case, or decreased by 42 case.
“Compared to last year, crime cases in Banyuwangi decreased by 3,1 percent,” said Banyuwangi Police Chief, AKBP Nasrun Pasaribu, when the press was released at the Banyuwangi Mapolresta, Monday (27/12/2021).
On the other hand, settlement of criminal cases in the year 2021 increased 11,9 percent compared to the previous year.
“Case settlement in 2021 reach 1.124 case or 85,4 percent. This has increased compared to last year 2020 which is just 998 case or 73,5 percent of matters handled,” he added.
The average crime cases that occur in Banyuwangi are still dominated by general criminal cases.
Among them are drug abuse as much as 218 case, theft by weight 100 case, and stolen 88 case.
Besides that, Banyuwangi Police also succeeded in uncovering cases of circulation of counterfeit foreign currency worth 2,8 trillion and Rp3.7 billion counterfeit money.
“We also have succeeded in uncovering the illegal home industry for firearms and there are many other big cases that we have managed to uncover,” added Nasrun.
Meanwhile, traffic accident cases during the year 2021 experienced a significant increase.
“Year 2021 there is 801 laka naik 18 percent compared to year 2020 which is just 676 case. The death toll also increased from 183 case in year 2020 Becomes 217 in 2021,” he said.
Nasrun added, results revealed in the year 2021 this will be an evaluation material so that the hope is in the year 2022 the number of crime crimes and traffic accidents can go down.
