BANYUWANGI, Jurnalnews – Tampo Fair 2023, which was organized by the Tampo Village Government, Cluring District, Banyuwangi Regency, officially opened on Thursday, 9 November 2023, in Green Open Space (RTH) Tampo Village. This event is a forum for various Micro Businesses, Small, and Secondary (UMKM), especially from Tampo Village and its surroundings in Cluring District.
Opening of Tampo Fair 2023 attended by various parties, including the Regent of Banyuwangi represented by the Assistant for Government and Welfare, Arif Setiawan, as well as representatives from the Culture and Tourism Department, Trade Department, Cooperatives and MSMEs, Forpimka, Cluring District, village heads in Cluring District, SD/MI school principal, SMP/MTs, MA/SMK, and Director of Tampo Polytechnic.
The opening of the event began with a gandrung dance performance, iconic symbol of Banyuwangi Regency, and drumband attractions presented by students from Tampo Village.
In his speech, Head of Tampo Village, Dr. Hasyim Ashari, explained that Tampo Fair is not just an event for selling MSME products, but also as a tourism promotion platform for Tampo Village which is famous for the beauty of its batik village.
"On this occasion, We also inaugurated the launch of Teradawangi bio-certified rice, superior product of Bumdes Tomposentono belonging to Tampo Village. This rice is very good for stunted children because it is rich in nutrition and has minimal risk of pesticides,said Dr. Hasyim Ashari.
Meanwhile, Drs. Arif Setiawan, MM., Assistant 2 Banyuwangi Regional Secretary, stated that Tampo Fair was a positive step in supporting post-pandemic economic recovery.
“The Tampo Fair will be a driver of economic activity, become a stage for people to express art and culture, as well as introduce Teradawangi rice, which is specifically intended for stunted toddlers. At the moment, The poverty rate has also decreased significantly. Through joint efforts, we hope to reduce the stunting rate by up to 14% in 2024," explained Arif.
Tampo Fair was officially opened by Arif Setiawan and also marked the launch of Teradawangi rice with distribution to mothers who have stunted children.
Tampo Fair activities will last for four days, from 9 until 12 November 2023. During that period, The public will be presented with a variety of interesting events, such as the Hadrah Festival on Thursday night, horse art performance, goat contest, art performance every night, and a traditional snack competition during the day.
