KALIPURO – The Ark of the True ship that ran aground behind the headquarters of Satpoiair Ketapang until yesterday morning (7/8) still tilted 11 degrees. Ship with cargo 2.750 tons of subsidized rice waiting for ship assistance from Masalembu, Sumenep regency which is still on its way to the port of Tanjungwangi.
Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) Tanjungwangi has coordinated with several related agencies to evacuate the rice on the deck of the Bahtera Sejati ship. Because, if left for too long, it is feared that it will damage the quality of subsidized rice that will be brought to the port of Reo, Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara.
Decisions obtained as a result of the KSOP meeting, Polar, PT. Pelindo Tanjungwangi, Pelni and Bulog, agreed to bring in a ship from Maselembu which is scheduled to arrive in the waters of the Bali Strait on Tuesday today (8/8).
“The result of his decision to bring a ship from Masalembu and move the cargo into the ship,” said the Head of the Sailing Safety Section, Tanjungwangi Care and Patrol, Djatmiko Widodo.
Djadmiko says, technically the cargo of rice onboard the Ark of the True will be transferred to ships imported from Masalembu. Ships originating from Masalembu are also facilitated with cranes to facilitate the evacuation of cargo transfers.
“For now, the relevant parties are focusing on shipping the cargo onboard the Ark of the True Lord. So as soon as the cargo is moved and immediately sent to the port of destination,” said Djatmiko. The Tanjungwangi KSOP said that the Bahtera Sejati ship was seaworthy and until yesterday (7/8) The cause of the ship leak is still unknown.
Some of the crew on board the ship are still pumping the water on the deck. “We are still trying to find out the cause of the water seepage into the ship. If the cargo has been evacuated, we will check the ship again later,” said Djatmiko.
Kasatpolair Banyuwangi Police AKP Subandi explained:, if the ballast present in the ship of the True Ark is so unbalanced as to cause the ship to tilt to the right.
Ballast is a system to be able to position the ship in a balanced state both in front and rear trim conditions, as well as swaying. In the plan is to include water as ballast material so that the ship's position can return to the perfect position.
“I have advised the captain to add water to the ship's ballast so that the ship becomes balanced. However, the water continues to increase and causes the ship to tilt 11 degrees to the right,” said Subandi.
Subandi added, Polair member, TNI-AL and KSOP have inspected all parts of the Ark of the True. However, the exact cause of the leak is not yet known. Some of the diving team members also didn't find any leaks at the bottom of the boat.
“We can only monitor and make sure the ship is safe because the ship just ran aground and there were no fatalities and crimes related to the ship aground.. The one with more authority is KSOP Tanjungwangi,” said Subandi. (radar)
