MUNCAR – Do you want to know where the takbir night event is the loudest?? the answer may be in the Field of Sumbersewu Village, Muncar District, Banyuwangi. Yes, on the eve of Eid last Saturday (24/6), dozens of trucks and pickups gathered in the Sumbersewu Village field.
They are no ordinary trucks. Dozens of open vehicles were participants in a loud battle over the sound of the sound system. They purposely gathered to enliven the takbir night celebration to welcome the coming of Idul Fitri 1438 Hijri.
Residents also came from all corners of the Banyuwangi area. They wanted to watch the loud sound system truck show. Hundreds of participants with pick-up cars complete with sound system arrangements were ready to blare on Blambangan Earth that night.
They don't just go around to shout echoes of takbir. Participants deliberately competed for the sake of risking the name of their respective regions. “This event is regularly held every year, and sure to be merry,” said Joko Gondrong, one of the event organizers.
Participants do not only compete to compete loudly. They deliberately appear with a sophisticated sound system equipment. For the sake of appearing in the takbir celebration, they are willing to spend up to tens of millions of rupiah. There is one truck unit that spends Rp 30 million for the device shown that afternoon.
“We rent this sound device from Jogkarta to enliven the annual people's party,” Ferdiansyah said, participants from Muncar District. Even though it's a competition, but participants do not solely pursue the title of champion. They just want to compete with prestige and make their village proud.
“We just want to enliven this takbir night and this annual event. We are proud of the party held every year,” said Sodikin, one of the truck drivers participating in the echo takbir. The event closed with a fireworks display at 19.30. Recorded approx 5.000 explosion with a duration of approx 45 minutes for fireworks.
“This event is always lively every year. Will always be excited in the following years,said Joko Gondrong. According to Joko, on the night of the takbir, a variation of the waterfall explosion was also launched, single shoot, and waterfalls throughout 20 meter. There is also a special effect single shoot, and bursts of fireworks.
Meanwhile, the truck parade only went around the Muncar District area. The goal is not to disturb traffic on the main road. “We anticipate that all participants will not leave outside the Muncar District area.
