The KCR Trimaran ship is an order from the Ministry of Defense (Ministry of Defense) RI to strengthen the Navy's fleet. President Director PT. Lundin Industry Invest, Mr. John Lundin explained, KRI Klewang has the latest design which is based on the Trimaran model or a three-hulled ship. The basic material used is composite material and has a length of 63 meter.
KRI Klewang, Lundin explained, belongs to one of the largest payload ships made in the Southeast Asian region. With its radical lunasny form, the ship can travel at a maximum speed of more than 30 knots. “This ship can penetrate ocean waves up to six meters high,Lundin explained. One of the capabilities of KRI Klewang that is superior and proud is stealth.
This ship is specially designed so as not to be detected by any radar. Because, KRI Klewang's design is unique and the basic material is carbon fiber. Carbon fiber has unique characteristics, i.e. it does not induce heat and is stronger than steel but lighter. "KRI Kleweng deserves to be the pride of the Indonesian people as one of the mainstay defense equipment produced by the national defense industry.,Lundin said proudly.
Commander of the Banyuwangi Navy Base, Lt. Col. Muhammad Nazif added, KRI Klewang is the only Navy combatant fast ship that uses composite materials. KRI Klewang can carry out maritime security patrols with economical speed and continuous operations in the area for as long as 10 day. Besides that, KRI Klewang also has high speed and is able to carry out joint sea operations with various other types of ships.
