BANYUWANGI – Fuso truck with plate number P 9007 ZQ, which was transporting sengon wood, overturned in the Gumitir area, Jember, precisely west of Watu Gudang, Thursday (4/10/2018).
The truck body lying on the road creates a southern route connecting the two districts, namely Banyuwangi – Jember has an open and close system.
The incident started when the truck was driving from Jember to Kalibaru, Banyuwangi. However, because the road conditions were curved and the load was too high, resulting in the driver being unable to control the truck.
“The road conditions are down and the load is slightly overloaded, As a result, the driver could not control the speed of his vehicle. Apart from winding, The road terrain in this area is also very prone to accidents, The truck body slightly blocked the road. For traffic flow, an open and close system is implemented,” explained the Head of the Kalibaru Police Traffic Unit, Ipda Nanang Wardhana.
Nanang said, they only help secure the road, because the location at the time of the incident was in the jurisdiction of the Jember Police.
“There were no victims in the incident. We urge road users to remain careful when driving, For trucks carrying goods, always be alert and don't overload them, because it is very dangerous,” he said.
