BANYUWANGI – Former Chair of the Anti-Drug Movement (Grenade) Banyuwangi, Rio Rosano Hansa, sentenced to four years and eight months in prison by the panel of judges at the Banyuwangi District Court. The younger brother of the legendary singer Banyuwangi, Emilia Contessa, He was found guilty of possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.
In the trial, Rio was found guilty of violating Article 111 verse 1 and Article 112 Law No 35 Year 2009 about narcotics. Apart from imposing imprisonment, The panel of judges chaired by Ketut Somanasa also imposed a fine of Rp 800 million. When not paid, Rio was required to undergo an additional one month imprisonment.
In response to the verdict, Rio who was accompanied by his legal representative immediately accepted. That means it's not the first time Rio has been caught in legal trouble. Several years ago Rio was also in trouble with the law because of the same case.

The verdict handed down by the judge was lighter than the demands read by the public prosecutor (JPU). In amar of his claim, prosecutors charge Rio with a sentence of seven years in prison and a fine of Rp 800 million subs three months confinement.
Rio was arrested by the Banyuwangi Police Narcotics Unit on suspicion of possession of a package of methamphetamine weighing 1,3 grams and dry marijuana weighing 4,7 gram.
