BLIMIBINGSARI – Airplane passengers at Blimbingsari Airport continue to increase. To you Ramadan this year, passengers increased by five to 10 percent from previous days. Ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, the number of passengers is predicted to increase drastically from last year.
Because, This year, apart from the Surabaya-Banyuwangi route, the Jakarta route will also be opened soon- Banyuwangi directly. The opening of this new route, is expected to increase the number of passengers arriving or departing from Blimbingsari airport.
“To date, the plan to open a new route from Jakarta to Banyuwangi for Nam Air aircraft remains unchanged 16 next June,” said Blimbingsari Airport TU staff, Ari in the middle. Nam Air airline will use Boeing aircraft with passenger capacity 120 passenger.
Nam Air aircraft will serve one flight per day on the Banyuwangi-Jakarta route. Meanwhile, Blimbingsari Airport's new terminal construction is currently at the stage of fencing the new terminal area.
“The removal of all safety equipment awaits the completion of the development of the new terminal. If you're done, all our equipment moved to the new terminal,” said Ari. To be known, Blimbingsari Airport's new terminal, which was built using the Banyuwangi Regency Regional Budget and the East Java Provincial Government Budget, is currently in the process of final completion.
