BANYUWANGI – Identity of an unidentified corpse found rotting in the bushes of the slopes of Mount Srawet, Kebondalem Desa Village, Bangorejo District, Banyuwangi Regency, finally revealed. Victim, turns out to be a senile grandfather who has been missing since 1 last month.
Bangorejo Police Chief, AKP Bahrul Anam says, certainty of the identity of the victim is known after Saehonah, The victim's nephew came to Bangorejo Police Headquarters, Friday (24/8/2018).
“We took his nephew to Blambangan Hospital, to make sure the corpse was indeed a member of his family,” he said.
From the characteristics of the victim, The family believes that the corpse is Slamet (73), Karangdowo Hamlet, Barurejo Village, Tegalsari District. His family also recognized him from the clothes the victim was wearing.
“Description from Saehonah, the victim is indeed senile and has been missing since a month ago,” he said.
The victim's body was finally handed over to the family for burial. Also, the family refuses to do an autopsy.
“From the medical examination, there were no signs or marks of violence on the victim's body,” he concluded.
Previously, Residents of the Mount Srawet area were excited by the discovery of a corpse in the area. The decomposed corpse is thought to have died 10 days ago.
