BANYUWANGI – Even though Nyepi celebrations are still 17 March 2018 coming, PT ASDP Banyuwangi has started to socialize. Because, on the great day of the Balinese Hindus, the Ketapang-Gilimanuk crossing will be closed.
General Manager of PT ASDP Ketapang Banyuwangi Elvi Yoza said, socialization of the closure is carried out to drivers and the community around the port. By distributing leaflets to the installation of notification banners at a number of road points to Ketapang Port.
“We carry out socialization to the public regarding the closure of the port to commemorate the 2018 Nyepi Day.” said Elvi Yoza to detikcom, after chairing the coordination meeting for the security and smooth flow of crossings at the ASDP Ketapang Office, Thursday (8/3/2018).
Leaflets distributed to this community, it's clear, contains notification of closing of ferry services and last ship departure from Ketapang Port or from Gilimanuk Port, Bali. With this socialization, the community is expected to be able to adjust the schedule that has been determined.
The ferry port that connects Java-Bali will be completely closed on April 17 March 2018. The last crossing from Ketapang, Banyuwangi at 00.00 Saturday WIB (17/3/2018). Meanwhile, Gilimanuk Harbor is closed at 05.00 Saturday morning (17/3/2018).
“The crossing will reopen on Sunday (18/3/2018) jam 5 morning from Ketapang Port,” added.
To avoid long queues, it's clear, ahead of the reopening of Ketapang Port, PT ASDP has prepared a number of parking pockets.
It anticipates if the parking area inside the port is not enough to accommodate vehicles. Additional parking pockets are located at a number of points. Di antaranya di Stasiun Banyuwangi Baru, Pelabuhan Tanjungwangi dan tanah milik PT ASDP Ketapang yang berada di Desa Bulusan Banyuwangi.
“Kita sudah siapkan semua, baik itu 32 kapal kita operasikan dan juga tempat penampungan, baik itu di Bulusan dan juga di terminal sudah kita siapkan. Predikat lonjakan penumpang pasca penutupan pelabuhan mencapai 10 persen dibanding hari-hari biasa,” he concluded.
