Official, Banyuwangi Airport Serves International Routes

BANYUWANGI – Banyuwangi Airport officially serves international routes. Since first operating on 2011, now the airport with the first green architecture concept in Indonesia has opened a direct flight for the Kuala Lumpur-Banyuwangi route served by the national airline Citilink.

As much 300 Orphans accompany the inaugural flight to take off for the Malaysian capital on Wednesday (19/12/2018). The melody of the holy verses of the Qur'an and the blessings of the Prophet were chanted by hundreds of orphans.

From Banyuwangi, passengers served with flight number QG 514. This flight takes place at 08.20 WIB and is expected to arrive at 12.10 local time. While from Malaysia, the flight number is QG 515. The plane will depart at 13.20 and is scheduled to arrive in Banyuwangi at 15.10 WIB.

The aircraft used is an Airbus A-320 with a capacity 180 passenger. Flight frequency as much 3 times a week, namely Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

“Thank you to the Ministry of Transportation for continuing to support Banyuwangi Airport, also to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ministry of Finance, Angkasa Pura II, all of which synergize quickly so that this international flight can be realized,” said the Regent of Banyuwangi, Abdullah Azwar Anas.

“And most importantly, thank you and ask for prayers to all Banyuwangi residents,” added Anas.

Anas says, With the opening of this route, it will further increase accessibility to Banyuwangi, so that it can encourage various sectors of the economy to grow, which ultimately contribute to the welfare of citizens.

“The opening of this route will definitely have a big economic impact on the region. The development of this airport will be a driving force for the regional economy. This is in line with President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla's commitment to equal development, including in areas far from the center of national growth such as Banyuwangi,” he said.

Meanwhile, the family of the former regent of Banyuwangi, like Mrs. Erna Samsul Hadi, wife of the late Samsul Hadi (Banyuwangi Regent 2000-2005) along with several members of his family, and the former Regional Secretary of Banyuwangi Sukandi were also on the flight.

Former regents and families of other former deputy regents have also been invited, but unable to attend. There is also a nanny at the Darussalam Blokagung Banyuwangi Islamic Boarding School, KH Hisham Syafaat.

“This is a special moment. And the previous leaders laid the foundation for Banyuwangi's progress. So we invited them to join us on this flight,” he concluded.
