BANYUWANGI – Some residents who live in the Sacred Neighborhood, Kertosari Village, Banyuwangi District, yesterday (15/1) report the intimidation they received to the Lurah and Babinkamtibmas. The report was submitted through a Kertosari resident named Heri because some of the residents who were intimidated were afraid to report it themselves.
Heard about it, Village Head of Kertosari, Joko Handoko together with Babinkamtibmas immediately went to the landfill project site close to the house of a resident who claimed to be intimidated. Based on information from Heri, Residents were intimidated after complaining that the road was damaged by trucks carrying materials passing through the road near their house.
"I tried to check directly into the field, I am very disappointed to hear of bullying. This can make residents uneasy, until they dare not report directly to me,“said the former Sobo Village Chief. Joko added that the intimidation created two problems at that location.
The first is a material truck that destroys a recently finished asphalt road. Then create fear in the community because of intimidation from certain parties. “They are (landfill project owner) no report to me yet. What I know is that there was a three-hectare landfill and a road opened up to the Karangrejo sub-district.”
“I will try to mediate between the residents and the project owner with the Sub-District Head of Tomorrow. Later, together with Babinsa and Babinkamtibmas, I will also try to follow up. I saw no one there yet” added Joko. Babinkamtibmas Kertosari Village, Bripka Andi Yunus, added that he invited residents to report if they felt intimidated.
