The creative economy sector in Banyuwangi continues to stretch to encourage economic recovery. This weekend, Saturday 23 October 2021, Banyuwangi regency government collaborated with Bank Indonesia (BI) holding the Moslem Fashion Festival (MFF), a Muslim fashion show at the Marina Boom Beach yacht pier.

Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani said, MFF is an effort to encourage economic recovery as well as a creative stage for the designers of Bumi Blambangan to return to existence after being in a vacuum during PPKM, until finally now Banyuwangi enters PPKM Level 2 so that you can start holding the game gradually.

“Thanks to the great passion of the designer ecosystem, fashion ecosystem, who continue to create even during a pandemic. Bank Indonesia's support is also extraordinary, so that we can continue to make the fashion sector and in general the creative economy sector one of the drivers of economic recovery,” said Ipuk.

A number of Banyuwangi designers will collaborate with national designers to present 54 modern muslim fashion design. national models, Zee Zee Shahab, will take part in this fashion show.

The Banyuwangi Moslem Fashion Festival will be held on the floating pontoon of the Marina Boom yacht pier which has been transformed into a catwalk for models to show off their clothes..

With a beach background, yacht, and the heritage building that became the icon of Marina Boom, this event will be an interesting fashion show.

"We deliberately choose venues in tourist destinations because we don't just want to highlight the fashion side, but also travel. We want to inform you that destinations in Banyuwangi have reopened and are ready to receive tourists," said Ipuk.

According to Ipuk, the choice of Muslim fashion is not without reason. Indonesia is targeted to become the center of the world halal industry. One of them, through the Muslim fashion industry as a priority sector because it is considered to have a very broad export market potential.

In this event, four designers from the Banyuwangi Designer Community (KDB) namely Sanet Sabingtang, Risk Is Easy, Miftahul Ridho, and Isyam Syamsi collaborated with designer Wignyo Rahadi.

Including fashion designs designed by vocational students who have participated in the incubation program from Wignyo Rahadi were also shown.

Wignyo Rahadi himself has been active for more than two decades in the national fashion industry. He is known to diligently lift woven fabrics in his work. On MFF, Wignyo will show 10 fashion design with the main material of contemporary woven fabrics.

Chairman of the Banyuwangi Designer Community, Sanet Sabintang, said that the MFF this time carries the theme “viosimos” which means sustainability. "Here we carry the concept of sustainable fashion as a new lifestyle in the new normal era,” said Sanet.

Sanet says, the four Banyuwangi designers involved in this event will present each 6 his best work. Plus 20 work of incubation participants, as well as 10 by Wignyo Rahadi.
