BANYUWANGI – After going through the trial and error stage, the Smart Village program initiated by the Banyuwangi Regency Government was officially launched yesterday (31/5). The launching of the program aimed at bringing public services closer was carried out by the Minister of Communication and Informatics (Minister of Communication and Information) Rudiantara at the Kalibendo Plantation Field, Glagah District.
Menkominfo Rudiantara also had the opportunity to directly check public services in one of the villages 70 villages that are pilot projects for the Smart Village program, namely in Kampunganyar Village, Glagah District.
Result, The Minister of Communication and Informatics said he was amazed by the breakthrough of the Banyuwangi Regency Government and hoped that similar programs could be replicated in other villages throughout Indonesia. Menkominfo Rudiantara said, the Smart Village program initiated by the Banyuwangi Regency Government is in line with President Joko Widodo's policy regarding village-based national development.
Therefore, the people of Banyuwangi should be proud that this district at the eastern tip of Java Island has 70 Smart Kampung pilot village. "So be proud of Banyuwangi 70 Smart Village pilot project village. It means, between totals 74 thousand villages throughout Indonesia, the number of villages that have implemented Smart Village 0,00001 percent, and it's only in Banyuwangi," he said.
It says, Smart Village plays a very important role in improving the quality of public services. Basically, people need government services. While government services are divided into two, namely services by the central government and local government.

After carrying out the inauguration procession of the Smart Village program in the Kalibendo Plantation field, The Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara immediately conducted a field visit to the Kampunganyar Village office. He saw directly the application of services that have utilized information technology (TI), which is the management of the poor declaration letter (SPM).
By leveraging IT, SPM services which initially took up to six days could be shortened to six hours. “Although a field survey must be carried out, SPM can be issued within six hours. Because field visits can be carried out by officers who are on alert in the village or sub-district,said an officer.
Confirmed after field inspection, Menkominfo Rudiantara said, what is implemented in Banyuwangi is above the national average. Because of that, he asked for the Banyuwangi-style Smart Village to be documented and a model made, so that it can be replicated in other villages in the country.
"As far as I know this is a first. Frank, I am proud of the people of Banyuwangi," he concluded. Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas said, through the Smart Village program, Banyuwangi Regency Government wants to minimize the city-centric impression that has developed so far.
